Summer is officially here, the kids are out of school and the fun has just begun! This is the time of year when things slow down for the ministry. We don’t do many tours, in fact, our schedule is mostly weekends with a few mid-week shows here and there.

Things in the office slow down as well because it’s much harder to get a hold of pastors during the summer months. It’s fine with me because it leaves more time for Kelli and I to spend with our kids. Our regular office hours are 9-4, but for now it’s more like 8:30-3 (give or take). I love having the flexibility to play with the kids and do things with them every day that I’m home. I’m excited to have them coming to more of my summer shows. My son Chase wants to come with me all summer so that he can help out with the lighting. If he was older, I wouldn’t have to worry about losing my road guys because I know that he would always have my back.

I used to worry about this time of year because the slower schedule makes the summer months really tight financially. God works everything out, even when we don’t realize what He’s doing. God has blessed us tremendously and no matter what happens today, tomorrow, or years from now, I know that as long as our walk with Christ is where it is supposed to be, that God is in control and there is no reason to worry.

Thanks for checking in. Hope you have a great summer!
