I remember being told many times growing up “Don’t do that, you don’t want to be labeled as that type of person”. I’ll be honest….I really don’t remember what I was doing to have someone tell me that, but I do remember that statement. Maybe it was for my sister, and I was just standing close by to hear it……Hahaha!!!
I think it is funny how some people don’t want any type of label and other people spend their whole lives trying to get one. I have one friend that when it is him and I in a private setting, he still wants to be called doctor. I have another friend that you would never know all the great accomplishments he has done in life and you would never know his titles because he just wants to be “him” and not have a title or label to his name.
These days, it seems like everyone is labeled as something. Democrat, Republican, vaxed, non-vaxed, masker, non-masker, Christian, Atheist, married, divorced, single, straight, gay, trans, and the list could literally go on for hours.
Whether you want a label or not, people will look at you, judge you and put some kind of label on you no matter if you want it or not.
My wife labels me as intelligent, handsome, funny, and buff!! At least that’s what I hope she does. (The funniest part of that statement is that spell check had to fix my spelling of intelligent!!)
Today, whether you like it or not, I want you to know that you do have a label. This label doesn’t have anything to do with your looks, your preferences in life, your political party, your stance on things of this world or anything else. It is a label given to you long before you were even born. The label you have says “LOVED”.
God loves you. He loved you before you ever even came into this world. He loves you no matter what this world has labeled you as or whatever you have labeled yourself as. None of those things matter. He loves YOU!
