One of the harder things I have to do with these “What’s New” columns I write, is keeping them short. I sometimes write a crazy long column, then realize it is way to long and then must cut out a lot to not lose people’s interest because it is to long.
Today’s column will hopefully be short and “focused”.
One thing many people may not know about me is that I am a very protective person with my family and those around me. I practice those protective skills as much as I can and study different tactics, solutions and whatever else I can to grow my knowledge and ability.
One common warning a lot of instructors give to people who may be in a situation where they must defend themselves or others around them, is the challenge of not getting tunnel vision on the threat only. Tunnel vision in those scenarios, prohibits your ability to see your surroundings, adapt to the environment around you, see other threats and the list can go on and on.
I share that, because not getting tunnel vision in a threatening situation is very hard to practice and train for, but today, I want to encourage all who are reading this to actually get tunnel vision!!!
Right now, during this crazy busy holiday season, there is a lot going on in every one’s lives. There is so much going on around us, our schedules are full and the world is just moving so fast and none of us slow down to focus on what we should be right now.
The tunnel vision I encourage us all to have, is to look towards the true meaning of Christmas and the amazing Gift God gave us in His Son, Jesus Christ.
Focus all your attention on Him and see how great everything else around you will and can be!!

Thank you for your time and for checking in! Merry Christmas!!
