July 4th came and went. It was a day of lots of food, fireworks and fun. It is a day to celebrate our countries independence. Both of my Grandfathers fought to help us keep that independence and so did a lot of other people. I am a VERY proud American and cannot think of any other country that I would want to live in. I do think that it is sad that a lot of people only think about our independence only once a year. So much sacrifice was made so we could be free.
As cool as our countries independence is, there is a greater independence that we have or can have that came with a HUGE cost. It’s our independence and forgiveness of our sins because of what Christ did for us on the cross.
God has blessed us so much with so many things, but His greatest gift to us was His Son, Jesus Christ. Christ came and lived a perfect life so he could be the perfect sacrifice for the things you and I do wrong in our lives every day. Because of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, we can be forgiven of our sins and have a promise to live with Him in Heaven for eternity, which is a much cooler place to live then even this country.
July 4th comes and goes every year. A lot of people remember their independence because of the flags, food, fireworks and much more, but when we receive Christ as our Lord and Savior, we should not need anything to help remind us of what He did for us to give us our freedom from sin.
