I just got back from a North Carolina tour. I had a great time, fun concerts and saw several people turn their lives to Christ.
I do love what I do. Being able to travel all over the world playing my trumpet is one of the best jobs in the world, but……………….traveling all over the world playing my trumpet is not worth it AT ALL.
March 30 was Kelli’s and my 23rd anniversary. In being married for 23 years, I have been home for 3 anniversaries. I have miss so many of the kids and Kelli’s birthday. I have not been there to see two of my kids walk for the first time. I have missed tons of school activities as well as social things they have done through the years. Playing my trumpet around the world is just not worth the sacrifices I have made through the years.
I am in no way after sympathy or a pat on the back at all. To be honest, I think the men and women that fight for this country make much more of a sacrifice then anyone I know. Why then do I do this, why do I choose to leave my family to travel and play music to thousands of strangers a year. Well, for me, it has nothing to do with playing my trumpet or playing music, it has everything to do with sharing the love of Christ to as many people as I possibly can. The trumpets and music are just the tools that I use to help me communicate the Gospel to as many people as I can.
Was this past trip down south worth missing another anniversary, was it worth the long days and short nights, and was it worth the money spent on fuel, lodging and food. Was it worth being away from my wife and kids again? Absolutely!!!!!
Seeing people respond last week to the Gospel is why we do what we do.
This month we will celebrate Easter. Easter isn’t about candy, eggs and bunnies, it is all about how Jesus Christ defeated sin for you and I. He did that by dying on the cross but then rising from the dead 3 days later. He died and was raised from the dead for you and me. If you don’t know Christ personally, you can begin a relationship with Him right now by asking Christ into your life.

I truly do love what we get to do here at this ministry. I love traveling all over the world sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
