It seems as if the older I get, the more I appreciate and draw towards the “things of the past”. For an example….I really don’t feel like there is much on TV anymore, but I have REALLY been enjoying watching the old Little House on The Prairie episodes. I also have enjoyed scrolling my social media and seeing “vintage toys” and seeing things I grew up on. You all know that as soon as you click on one thing, it becomes your new feed. Well……I clicked on GI Joe and that is now flooding my feed and I LOVE IT. That was my thing growing up. It brings back a ton of memories!!
We were out with some friends a few days ago and saw a vintage toy store that sold a ton of collectables. We went in and I geeked out. I didn’t buy anything but would have if I had the money!! All of the old GI Joe toys I grew up with were there!! It brought back SO many memories and I loved it.
There was a section in the store that had brand new GI Joe toys. It looks like some company is trying to remake and relaunch the toys. Not to be mean at all, but the toys were junk. The action figures were so plain, missing details, the accessories that came with the figures were even worse. Their faces looked really weird, and you couldn’t move their arms and pose them like the old figures. It was sad! They certainly don’t make things the way they use to.
Being a Christian and following Jesus in my life is nothing like the toys I saw, because if we follow Jesus like we are supposed to, He gets better and better in our lives. The Bible reminds us in Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”!
That awesome warrior Jesus Christ that died on the cross for you and me is no different right now then He was the second He died and rose again. Thousands of years have not made Him “not as good as He use to” because He has not changed.
As most things around us have changed, things we buy don’t last, they’re cheaply made and just aren’t as good as things in the past. Live your life today, tomorrow and the rest of your life knowing that Christ is that same warrior this very moment as He was when He walked this earth and the story of His life which is the Gospel is the same too.
Christ hasn’t changed, the Gospel hasn’t changed, but maybe you need to change today. If you have never given your life to Christ, take a minute right now to see what a relationship with Him is all about. Go to our website at chizrider.com and halfway down the home page on the right side is a link that says, “True Salvation is just a click and prayer away”.
With a lot of things in this world failing and being a bit of a disappointment, take a minute on that link and see how Christ will never fail you.

To end this….I’ll sign off like GI Joe did in every episode of the cartoon.

Now you know….and knowing is half the battle!!!
